WunderVinyl’s PET-linered Matte and Satin wrapping films give your car a slick look with their extremely smooth surface. In general, WV’s Matte and Satin films are little bit thinner than glossy films, because Matte and Satin films don’t require a thick structure for the ultimate glossy finish.

Therefore, the adhesive is also a lot softer in our Matte / Satin films — you don’t need to use as much dry de-tack solution as for glossy films — Matte / Satin films can be installed even without it.

 Strong repositionable adhesive with low initial tack 

To achieve an extremely smooth surface, a thick polymer wrapping film is your best choice. Strong adhesives are needed to make thick polymer wrapping film stick well on the curved surfaces — to minimize reclaims. Luckily that doesn’t have to be a problem installation-wise. WunderVinyl wrapping film has a strong low initial tack adhesive which makes the installation smoother.

You can also use dry de-tack solutions to make installation super smooth! Dry De-Tack solution consists of isopropanol (2-propanol) and Johnson’s Baby Shampoo (50:50 mix). Both ingredients can be bought from your local hardware store/supermarket.

Spray the mixture on a microfiber cloth and lay it on the paintwork with the cloth. Do not use the mixture for edges and strong curves, as you want the wrap to stick rapidly to those areas. Wait approximately 15 seconds for the mixture to dry up, and then start applying the film normally. You can now see that the adhesive’s initial tack is now much weaker and the film more slidable because of the transparent gliding layer created by the dry de-tack solution. The solution will dry and evaporate fully in two weeks.

Durabilities of WunderVinyl wrapping films are similar to other car wrapping films made for professional use. WunderVinyl films can hold extremely freezing temperatures (-40°C) in Northern Finland and withstand the stress of high ultraviolet radiation in Southern Europe. The expected durability of the film is different for different areas (3-5 years).
